Ford Co-Pilot360 is on most newer Fords, from the F-150, Super Duty and Ranger to the Escape, Explorer, Bronco, Maverick, Expedition and Transit. Its forward camera, which Ford calls the image processing module, sits at the top of the windshield behind the mirror. It runs Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, the Lane-Keeping System and Auto High Beams, and on many models it works alongside radar for Adaptive Cruise Control.
What Ford Says
Ford's repair guidance is clear: the forward camera must be aligned whenever the windshield is replaced, or whenever the windshield is removed and reinstalled. On a Ford, the procedure is called camera alignment, and it's done following Ford's workshop manual for your specific vehicle.
Dynamic Recalibration, Every Ford
Ford's camera alignment is a dynamic recalibration. Instead of setting up targets in a bay, our scan tool is connected while the vehicle is driven on well-marked roads, and the camera relearns the lane lines and the road ahead. Our recalibration equipment covers every Ford, from an Escape to an F-350, so it's handled as part of the same job.
Driving a Lincoln? Lincoln uses the same Co-Pilot360 system, and our equipment covers every Lincoln too, from the Corsair to the Navigator.
Lifted Trucks and Bigger Tires
Around the Jersey Shore we see plenty of lifted F-150s, Super Duties and Broncos. Ford notes that its lane-keeping system is engineered around the factory ride height and wheel and tire size, and that changing them affects how accurately the system works. If your truck has a lift, leveling kit or oversized tires, tell us when you book. It helps us plan the recalibration and set honest expectations about how the system will behave.
Fleets and Work Vans
Contractors and small businesses across Ocean County run Transits, F-250s and F-350s that can't sit at a dealer for days. We come to your yard or job site, replace the glass, and handle the camera alignment, so the truck is back to work the same day in most cases.
How We Handle It
- We match the glass to your exact vehicle. Give us your VIN or year, make, model and trim. The camera bracket, rain sensor, heads-up display and acoustic layer all change which windshield fits.
- We replace the windshield. At your home or job in most cases, with the right adhesive and a safe drive-away time before you leave.
- We recalibrate the camera to the factory procedure. Static (targets with the vehicle parked), dynamic (a set drive), or both, depending on what the manufacturer calls for. It's done on-site, right where the car is, as part of the same visit.
- We confirm the system is working. No warning lights, and the safety features come back on before we hand you the keys.
Because we recalibrate on-site, there's no second trip to the dealer. More about ADAS recalibration →
Ford Co-Pilot360 FAQ
Does every Ford need camera alignment after a windshield replacement?
Only vehicles with a forward camera, but that's most Fords built in the last several years. We'll confirm by your VIN when you call.
What happens if the camera isn't aligned?
You may get a warning that lane-keeping or pre-collision assist isn't available. Worse, the system may work but be slightly off, steering or braking for the wrong spot on the road. That's why we don't skip it.
Is camera alignment covered by insurance?
When the windshield replacement is covered under comprehensive, the required alignment is normally part of the same claim. We'll bill your insurance directly.
